Default short belt problem

So to start the problem off right.............I have a 1984 e z go marathon 2pg,22'' tires, 4'' lift etc. I definatly got the buggie bug The problem im having is I picked up a new short belt(dayco hp3004) to help with the lack of get up and go. jammed it on with no real problem but now the cart is realy hard to start. sometimes I even have to push it while turning it over to help get it started. Im wondering if the belt is to tight? Do i have the wrong belt I wonder?

The belt will break in and loosen up some, your battery may not be fully charged also

thanks for the input popatop. I'll put the battery on the charger and see if it helps. Love to get out and go for a long ride to help stretch the belt, but the trails around here are filling up with snow . Hate winter now that the cart is in the building sitting idle...lol.
