Default Stretching an EZGO RXV into a 6 Seater

I have a 2009 EZGO RXV with a rear seat. I'm tired of sitting rear facing and with another little guy on the way, I'd like for us all to be able to sit forward facing. I was looking for a project and picked up the RXV for a good deal. I'm also converting to a 6 8volt battery set up.

It's going to take a few months since I only have a few hours a week to work on it but I started the tear down this weekend. I removed the rear seat, body, drivers seat, batteries, and battery box. The 1/2'' impact wrench from Harbor Freight has become my new favorite tool.

Since I don't have access to a welder, I'll be making it a bolt on stretch kit. I'm hopefully picking up a bar/rod bender in order to bend the steel extension in the next few days. There is also a guy on Facebook that sells the entire RXV stretch kit, but I'm looking for a project and also a way to save a few bucks. I also didn't want the standard limo pod seat, so I'll be getting a full size seat for the front.

Here are some pics from the tear down. I'm open to all suggestions and feeback along the way.

Probably going to do a small lift kit with 22" tires. Already installed a radio, voltmeter, and 12volt accessory plug in the dash. Speakers installed below the seat. All of it run through a voltage reducer. Got my new 6 8volt battery tray in today.

I got a chance to cut the main wiring harness tonight so the next step is going to be putting jack stands under the frame and figuring out the cutting of the frame. I may not get to it for a few days.

Jd62 do you have any pictures of your rx with the 14" wheels? I'm debating on the tire and wheel size. Thanks.

Nice,,you already have a lot of work done......can't wait to see it finish... So for my wheels, they are mounted to 205-30-14 tire,, no lift on cart,, and i still have a lot of clearence in my fender.. For you 6 seater i assume you will put hd rear spring ??

Nice looking! With the low profile tires, do you feel the ride is any rougher if you hit a bump?

Yea I have the HD rear springs here in the garage. I'll also be installing turn signals and maybe a brake light.

Thanks,,i have to say i'm very impressed with the comfort of these tire,, no difference between the stock tire but personally for a 6 seater i prefer when it's lifted because you have more wheelbase and seem too low,, that's my opinion...Here's a pic of my previous 6 seater... Not the best pic,, but it's just to show you the look

Go ahead and cut the frame, but get it welded. That's my input.

Has anyone bought the fiberglass limo seat pod from WickedCarts that holds a full size TXT seat? I saw it on their website but wanted to see if anyone has used them. Or if anyone has the plans to turn a rear body into a seat.
