What's the spring for. Man it is dirty......

hmm thats strange it looked like a spring to activate brake lights but I see that spring is on the gas pedal not the brake. I have no idea, but its some kind of feature

It looks like the return spring for a gas powered RXV throttle pedal cable. The end of that cable goes through the center of the spring and into that receiver on the back of the throttle pedal stack. Maybe someone added that to get a better or more full return to throttle zero pedal position. It's normally not needed on the electric RXV as long as the main return spring is good and the pedal pivot is well lubed.

I have found that spring on several fleet RXV electrics, but never on the new ones we get from the factory.
