Maybe put a lighter socket next to the charge port, the 12v can be charged through it.

Just be sure not to use some puny little wire to the battery from the lighter socket, 12g would be a minimum, 10g would be better.

Chance NOTHING!! Strip it to the frame.....and rebuild everything!! Repaint anything that looks like metal. If it appears to be crawling across your frame.....hit it with a rust paint. It will stay there forever!! Put in a BIG BAD Arse controller, 2ga wires, and the batteries that will hold the most AMP-Hours possible. Big hawkin tires....and nice wheels. Lifting is a must!!
