1997 DCS Only Goes in Reverse (R=Reverse, F=Reverse)

They say that the DCS was made in 95 and 96. The motor stud labels were S1 S2 A1 A2. The PDS cart came along some where after the DCS drive. The first PDS carts had the shiftier by your knee and it was a DCS shiftier-F/R switch, with the two micro switches. (silver hockey puck) When the PDS came out the motor was marked A1 A2 F1 F2. And then it had the F/R switch on the dash. Do you have a PIC of the front of your controller

That's correct Rib, The first PDS was yr 2000. 1st year PDS had the DCS F&R with a lever but it also had the added speed sensor plug-in.

Most commonly when these early DCS and PDS Curtis controls operate in reverse regardless of the direction of the F&R lever it indicates controller failure.

The serial number ends in 97, so it should be a 1997, right?

Yeah, I do have the silver hockey puck F&R.

10 pin is the DCS giveaway. Manufacturers code last 2 digits of 97 means 1997 model year.
