Default rxv em brake driver oc

Borrowed a handheld for my 13 rxv which is currently not running

Present error comes up
EM brake driver oc

any ideas?

More then likely your going to need a new motor brake. Do you have an extra one or can you borrow one? That would tell you right away without buying one.

Absolutely! It means that your motor brake coil is shorted out and is drawing too much current (OC=OverCurrent). If you do not replace the motor brake, and in a hurry, it will burn out the controller motor brake output. I bought a new controller when that happened to me. You can get a new motor brake from sellers on eBay for less than you can buy from E-Z-GO. Try to make sure it is a real E-Z-GO part. There should be an E-Z-GO label on the box.

I eventually repaired my 1206AC-5201 controller, but it was not easy. That FET is surface mounted to a large heat sinked pad that makes it difficult to get unsoldered, even with surface mount soldering equipment. I bought 10 of those FETs so I would have spares. Here is a photo of the FET I replaced.
