Brake kits?
I'm trying to determine if Ausco or Jakes front brakes are a better choice for a lifted cart. If anyone has any ideas or reasons why one over the other please let me know! Also, is one easier to install than the other?
ScottyB- thanks for the controller, cables and solenoid set up. I'm up 4 mph over previous! With more to come with the lift and bigger tires!! 😃 |

Re: Brake kits?
Some like the aggressive front brake action with the jakes wet system. Other like the simple improved cable set up from Ausco. There has been a lot of discussion on this topic, you should be able to find some of it in the search. I really like the rear cable brakes for simplicity and improved braking. See stickie install here > http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ll-thread.html
I have a wet disc set up on my monster cart. They worked great initially but, I have been frustrated with master cylinder failure and reservoir leaks. |

Re: Brake kits?
Has there been much discussion about using both?

Re: Brake kits?
I installed Ausco a couple of months ago and there is a slight improvement over stock. Of course, my stock brakes still had lots of material left on the shoe. I thinking of adding Jakes to the front. My suggestion is to start with Ausco and see what you think. The cost of Ausco is minimal and you get the peace of mind of not stripping your hubs.
