One quick other question before I start the wiring this evening. On the first picture u made do I have to wire a switch in or can I just run it straight to battery positive and rely on the key action for turning reducer on and off since I'm going to splice into hot key switch wire?

you just need to tie in the #9 pin wire
the on off switch is for shutting it down without the key switch
so you dont need it or to wire it to batteries

here is how i would wire it

CTD does this look right? When I hooked everything up and turned key on my battery meter was out of control flashing red and my lights would not work.

First pic is reducer and fuse block installed and wired

Second pic is where I spliced the neg fromreducer in with neg coming back for battery meter

3rd is where I spliced I hope the 9th pin like in the pic.

Those chinese reducers put out an awful amount of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) that can interfere with other electronics, AND they are notorious for not working right, or at all, and failing.

to me you are spliced in to #2 on j1 which should give you power all the time... i guess its upside down from diagram ...the dark green is #10

1 make sure you are in run
2 make sure fuse is good
3 test reducer ... take off your tap and run it to the main pack positive ... test output

make sure charger is not plugged in

Also, this wiring method (and this type dc/DC convertor without a enable/trigger wire) is drawing all the current through the reed switch & key switch, 2 common failure points on a Txt.

Sorry, I came in late on this and don't mean to butt in but would like to add something that may help. These reducers may take a few seconds to energize before they work.
