Default 07 Series TXT Where to start?

Hi bgw, new to the forum... was given a 07 txt from the club I work at. pretty beat up! just got it to the house drove it home from the course. Tons of low end torque, accelerates good, top speed is 13mph drops to 8mph up hills. Which I know is pretty common for series carts. Plan on going to 48v when batts kick the bucket... but $ is tight baby on the way! I was looking at this http://www.cartsunlimited.net/series-controllers.html
pkg 484b
then getting a motor. admiral mot-b1 in a couple months. or should I get the motor 1st?
I also already have 2g cables waiting.will be adding no lift, tires will be 20'' or smaller. live at beach so very flat only 1 hill to climb on the course. Which leads me to my next ? will the upgraded controller help with the cart maintaining its speed while climbing hills?
Thanks

The motor could help, and the controller will help too (the stock controller is pretty weak). Biggest help will be 48v, that will give you a 33% increase in torque at all speeds . And a 33% top speed increase. I would probably not do the motor till you have the controller, because it will likely hasten the death of the stock controller.

And under-perform on 275 amp stock control.

jg6743....you have a good plan lined out (controls first).....execute it....and yes, the new upgraded controller pkg will help on the hills you mentioned.

Better solenoid. Stock one is not acceptable for anything other than stock 36v golfing use. Also, you will need to be doing HD cables with controller, so order them for 48v which will also work for 36v (but 36v cables aren't long enough for 48v).

I'm getting the 400 amp solenoid and haven't decided on HD f&r or reversing contactor

if the budget can do it the contactor is the way to go-push button convenience....

with the kits from scotty....they are 100% compatible for either 36v or 48v

IF you are going to start with 36v now....just make sure Scotty knows you are at 36v now.....

THEN when you go to 48v, the only other thing you will need, other then the batteries and the DPI charger is you will need a 470 ohm Pre-Charge Resistor to replace the, 220 ohm pre-charge resistor on your solenoid.
