these apartment complex handymen generally have to use any parts they can.i dont believe they have much of a budget.i would also check out the rest of the cart.

I didnt want to sound like a dink with my comment about the metal rod.. Its a well known for many of use who work on electric carts

Because if it drops in, your gonna have some fun on your hands..

Just keepin an eye on ya

I think it is a very valid point!

No need to prop up unless physically unable to just remove the seat bottom. If that's the case just use a bungie cord from the lifting strap on the seat to the steering wheel. Use the bungies that have plastic hooks. You know, just in case the staples pull out. Don't ask....
