2002 club car DS part out
Hi folks,
I recently bought a 2002 club car DS, basically because I just wanted the roof for my carryall It doesnt work and frankly, I dont really think I want to mess with it. It is a 36v electric. It is a toaster/resistor cart. Everything appears to be there. I "think" the motor may be seized up but I have not removed it yet to verify. I've tried briefly to sell it whole for cheap but response is overwhelming and I cant seem to get anyone that will actually show up, so I'm sick of trying to respond to Facebook messages. If anyone is local, I'm asking 150 bucks for the entire cart exactly as it sits. If theres any interest in anything let me know before I start putting things up on ebay. Or if anyone local wants the whole thing as it sits before I start taking crap apart just let me know Whatever sells on here instead of ebay I'll donate 10% of the sale to BGW for the ad space :) |

Re: 2002 club car DS part out
I understand, I’m new to the cart world, just bought my first 87 club car, and got it going and running enough to take the kids around the neighborhood, just looking to upgrade some things, still learning

Trying to see if hat the potential is of the vglide set up instead of the 5 resistors

V-glide in this is probably the exact same one you have in your 87. This cart has resistors also (apparently the last year they used that setup). The solid state carts with a controller some still used a v-glide setup. Same setup except it had resistors in between the different contacts, and was not a high-current pass through. It was just a resistance pass-through to feed a signal to the controller telling it how far you had the pedal pressed down. Then there are even newer systems with a sensor on the pedal itself called a MCOR instead of using the v-glide as the signal. IMO that's the way to go... I'd check out the electric club car section, lot of learning at your fingertips. Most of the folks here know I'm more of a gas motor guy. I've had a few nice electric carts and enjoyed them. I have an electric ezgo marathon I'm working on right now. Just to kill time during quarantine mostly but this club car I really just bought it for the roof and because the front cowl was in a lot better shape than the one on my other (gas) club car. So I stole the roof, swapped and painted the cowl and now just want to get this eyesore out of the yard . Either whole, or piece by piece. The back seat is 90% on excellent shape. Bottom cushion needs new plywood, easy fix. And the foot rest is rusted pretty good. The rest of the seat is pretty much perfect. Was thinking about putting it on my marathon but I've gotta make that cart work before I thibk about that :) |
