Default Oil Smells like gas?

I just got the 2012 ST 2+2. Been playing with it for a few days now and noticed that the oil smells like gas a little bit. Is this normal? They did tweak the throttle linkage when I bought it to make it run faster, and I've run it hard a few times but for less than 30 seconds at a time. I have since re-adjusted the linkage to make it a bit slower. I'm just paranoid that something might be wrong. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

By the way, it is not smoking or anything and seems to run ok.

might have a bad gas pump it is sucking gas into the crank case. check your oil for gas in it it will be very fine looking

I'm pretty sure there are only 2 ways for your crankcase to get gas in it:
1. Bad vacuum pump (it uses the pulsations of the crankcase pressure to operate the fuel pump) a leaking diaphragm in the pump can suck gas right into your engine.
2. Blow-by past the piston rings into the crankcase. This can be because of worn rings or a sticking choke.

If the oil gets diluted, you can end up with issues later on like worn pistons, crankshaft and camshaft and those can all lead to catastrophic failure.

Since this is a new cart, I would have the shop take a good look at everything and make sure that they didn't mess up the carb linkage when they upped your speed. Running hard for 30 seconds at a time may leave some residual gas, but not enough that it would be collecting in your crankcase. Also, if this is a brand new motor, it is still in its break-in period and may not be sealing as good as it will with a few more hours on the motor. I would keep track of the run time and oil level and change oil (and filter if applicable) according to the manufacturers break-in recommendations. You should notice less and less of a gasoline smell in the oil.
