Default Re: Yamaha G2 Dies When Warm

Can anyone tell me if you can test an spark ignitor? spark coil.

My trouble....Battery would not charge. New Gen/Star....charges at 15-16v at full rpm.

Same day I put on the gen/star.....would go and then stall. Roll to stop, press gas and would go for about 20 sec and same thing, rolll to stop and then would start again. Once in a while it would go for 9 holes before acting up.. Yesterday, lost all spark and still wont start today...no spark. Do I start with coil or ignitor.

Thinking about selling this thing, nothing but troubles.

Any help would be much appreciated.

This sounds exactly like what my g2 is doing. I tested spark with dynamic tester and am definatly loosing spark after about 3-6 minutes of operation. just wondered if you sorted this out yet.

Drove it around for a while, and it never exhibited the issue. The new owner is now running it around the neighborhood with a golf-tee in the carb, just for that extra boost

Look around on here the voltage regulator can make the cart die, could be a coil or ignitor they both go bad with heat sometimes but not common.

Ok thanks. I've already changed the coil and plug cap so i'll move on to the voltage regulator and Ignitor. anyone know how to trouble shoot the ignitor without just changing it out with another??

How much for one of those used igniters?
I've trouble shot mine all the way through and I've got now where else to go.
