Default Removing Pulley on Starter / Generator

What's the best method of removing the pulley from the starter/generator? Impact wrench I'm guessing? Also how are they threaded (any chance they're reverse). Thanks for the assist.

on my 87 clubcar i just use a ratchet and left to loosen and right to tighten

and the starter/Gen will go down to loosen up the belt

Okay...finally got the bolt off but now I CANNOT get the pulley to come off the armature. I've soaked it with Rust Eater, used a pulley removal tool (could tell it was going to bend the pulley). I have not tried heat as I was not sure if this might cause a problem with the armature. Any advice guys?

Just thinking out loud but you might have to disassemble the S/G, wrap the armature in a rag or two, put in a vice and try to unscrew it with a strap wrench.

Well that did it. Lube, elbow grease, lube some more yada yada...and it's off. Thanks for the advice. Man...what a pain!
