Default 2000.5 realistic expectations?!

I have a 2000.5+ gasser. Ordered a tiny tach and will zip tie the gov spring to about 3800rpms. Drive clutch rises to about 1/4" from top. What is a realistic speed I should expect to achieve? Stock everything currently.

Then, what should I do next? I read 30mph is easy to Achieve?!?! Really!? That sounds lofty.

I'd love to set my expectations on a realistic goal without spending a ton of money. I do plan a 6" spindle lift this winter.

Thoughts ??!!??

Assuming that your engine and clutches are in A1 condition then the above responses are in line but tyre diameter will have a huge effect on top speed and will also affect your ability to get smartly off the line. Lift kit will not change a darned thing regarding top speed unless you also go with a larger rolling diameter tyre in which case you can expect an increased top end speed at he expense of low end pulling power. In my case which is mostly golf course work I appreciate the low end power to scoot the cart up hills and such, but you have to ask yourself how often the cart is required to be flat out at top speed. Myself, I like it as is but it's your machine so do what you think best for your own application and preferences.

Chris.

invalid.. i agree with you.. i want low end power,, i could care less about speed.. we use this cart on deer lease.. you cant drive fast anyways, but have some hills that it has trouble climbing,,at times.. sometime climbs fine other times seem to struggle a bit...i was jus curious the other day and gps'ed it to c how fast it was....

Thanks that is VERY helpful.

I of course plan a larger tire with the lift.....and that sounds more like what I thought was realistic...20+mph is solid.

Love this site!
