Default 48 v

Whats the lowest volt reading on the 48 volt battiers before the charger want kick in??? I have like 46.6, I replaced the sol. and the charger stays on longer now before it kick the breaker off. so what would u do now???

what cart do you have?, how old are the batteries? did the charger work ok and just started doing this??

its a 99 yamaha pacesetter 2, batteries are about 7 weeks old, and it worked fine for about three or four weeks, and now just started this.

The charger needs to see only 2/3rds of the nominal voltage to activate the relay ... typically, when the charger won't shut off it is because the battery pack is not coming up to the cut off voltage... which is about 58v to 63v for a 48v cart. This indicates 1 or more bad batteries. Check the batteries and see if one or more are lower than the rest, then again after they have been been on charge for some time and see if there is a noticeably lower one?

FYI
The new batteries you put in are taking a severe overcharging during all of this and the charging is reducing their efficiency to the level equal to the old batteries. This quick aging process won't take but 6 months.
It sounds like you need 4 more new batteries, but you be the judge of that.
