Default 1989 rear end help

I have a older clubcar gasser with flat head motor the rear went my buddy gave me a rear from a little newer cart with ohv engine will the rear work do I have to do any mods thanks in advance

What year is the rear end from the newer cart? Your cart motor spins counterclockwise. If the rear end is from a 1996 or newer gas cart, it will work. From 1997-on the carts switched to clockwise rotation motors and the rear ends won't work without major mods like a jackshaft to flip the rotation.

I just found out the rear is from a 97 can I just run it in reverse for fwd I use it at my camper basically to run to lake and empty blue boy it's not drove hard or heavy any more

Yeah I think you can do that. Does it look like your old axle or does it look like a different model of axle? The newer clockwise axle cases look very different from the older counter-clockwise cases. I've heard, but I have never seen, that 1996-1997 carts may have come with either axle, just some model year overlap I guess.

It looks different but looks like it will bolt up I hope lol if not I guess I can sell and look for right one
