Sorry for hijacking your thread Boggs.
Doug, do you have any recommendations on the drivers seat backrest? I removed the spacer blocks and the gave back about a 1/2". |

I went to wally world and got a 2 inch thick piece of high density foam from the craft dept. I'm thinking that's about half the thickness of stock seat back. As soon as weather settles I'm going to try it and see if it sits any better. |

I hate the seat back squished forward. I have an older TXT series cart. I recently remounted the cargo box back 2 inches to get a normal seating arrangement again. Whoever designed addons like that never spent much time in the driver's seat

I will not even use the spacers anymore. Did you get the seat plate? It is about 4" by 18" (or so). That will go on to the new seat mounts and I just mount directly to that. It keeps the wiggle out of the seat backs when installed.....I find they seem too far ahead if you use the blocks.....

Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
I did not receive a seat plate. I did see in in a photo. I just spoke to a guy in my office. We are going to try an angle grinder in a few weeks so the the back supports fit into the factory seat grooves. I think that will solve the problem. If I mess up I'll weld it back together or order a new set from the company. I'm also looking into using the factory supports and grinding off the horns. But think that will then move the passenger seat too far out. Reverse problem then.

Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
On the older DS models with the two piece seat backs, just use the mount plate. I use the blocks for other things now...LOL. But you just use the four mounting screws on back of the seats thru the new plate, they come with the seat kit IF YOU ORDERED FOR OLDER STYLE DS. This still keeps them in a comfortable position and firms them up to prevent them from moving as much.
I have found on seats that the screws break out, you can use a short (@1") lag screw, 1/4". I find these very helpful especially on the armrests (hip restraints). If the bolts break or inserts come out, drill a small pilot hole thru the base of arm rest and seat and reinstall with a lag screw.....just a hint to save a lot of messing around |
