Default Marathon moulding trim

Has anyone successfully installed new molding on the marathon cowl?

If so, how did you do it?
Any links to videos or how to dos would be great.

yes and its no fun at all. I use a spray bottle with water and few drops of dish soap or WD40. spray the hell out of everything and slide it on carefully, watch out for them sharp teeth when working around the corners. - Phil

So you do need to start on one side and slide it?

Ouch!

Yep it’s a pain. Soapy water helped when I did it.

Not technically but opening it up and getting it to grip is harder...

Thanks for the info. What I did was to line the inside of the molding with dove for dishes. Did that from end to end. Then also placed more dove on the metal lips. The last 18" were tough. Not sure if it was because I was tired, or that is quite alot of molding to be sliding at this point.

notes:
1) i made sure the cart lips were all straight b 4 starting. Some of them had been through WWI.
2) I would stop as the newest section of molding would accidentally slide off. It seemed easier to slide the smaller lip in by twisting the molding and using my thumb to press down, and push forward, the front side edge of the molding. I could sometimes hear it pop in and the visual let me know it was in. I then did the back.
3) I used a plastic automotive interior trim piece to help me.
4) having a second person would help

Does this also count as washing my cart for the week?

Me too!

One issue. My right thumb is going to be sore for days from that push down on the molding, push the molding forward, and tuck the molding under move.

I'm almost sad that I'm going to put a carbon fiber dash over it. That dash will also hide the mint dash tray I found at my local gold mine. $15 bucks and they cut up an old marathon so the dash tray, or liner, wouldn't get damaged as the removed it. The place treats me great.
