Default Help me kick the tires (virtually of course)

So I'm planning to take a ride across town later this week to look at a 2009 Shuttle. I'm going with a buddy of mine, it's for him, but he wants me to come with him because he has no clue what he's looking at. I'm just familiar enough with the series carts and my TXT48 to be dangerous. Just wanted to see if there was anything in particular I should be looking out for that may be different on the shuttles so I don't steer my friend into buying something he shouldn't.

Overall, from the pictures, it looks to be in decent shape. I find it a little odd however, that it's a 48v, but it has eight 6-volt batteries crammed in, instead of (6) 8-volts....I get if maybe it were converted, someone would do that, but would there have even been a 36volt shuttle originally? unless it were 36, and they added the stretch kit perhaps? Run/Tow switch looks different than what I've seen as well.

The listing also shows the old trojans, but he says he just replaced all the batteries with US Battery, but still stayed with the eight 6v configuration. That seems odd to me.

Any advice is appreciated.

The Shuttle 4 and 6 came with a 8 x 6V battery pack from about 2002 up.
