Default marathon all go no slow

Hey guys I have an old 89 ez go that was a resistor cart, 36 volt. I got tired of burning it to the ground, so I did what anyone would do, tried to do a conversion. So I bought a 93 model with the curtis 275 controller that has a 1204 footprint for its guts. Iput them all in and nothing. The solenoid was clicking. Then I got shocked when I had my arm on the cart and started taking the hot side back off. Anyway I put a meter on the frame found I had a battery with ahole in it grounding to the frame. Got a new one and a curtis 400 amp 1205-117. I then bought a new 400 amp hd solenoid. Now I have no low end when it hits mid throttle it wants to wheelie and past 3/4 it dies. I tested pot box and it climbs to 56 or 700. Im lost and deep in my pocket, I need to feed the deer and have my beer drinking cart back if yall could help me it would be greatly appreciated! !

No clue here but could it be a 0-5k vs 5-0k issue

Ok so does that mean maybe I could change the pot to the club car style 5k-0? The guy I bought the controller from said it was for the ezgo and it would work, but who knows is the 1205 footprint 5k-0?

Most 1205 series Curtis controllers offer different throttle inputs based on the requirement of the original application. C/B 0-5k, 5k-0, or voltage input, and others. You might be able to provide the complete model/serial number of the controller and someone could identify the factory programmed throttle input for that unit.

Good luck.

In another post roady89 indicated the -117 is probably an ITS input. I agree and I'd add it's probably from a Workhorse but still, the only way to know with certainty is get the details from Curtis.
