Has anyone successfully used a j10 carb on a j17? What size jets did you change to?

I run a j10 carburetor on a j17 engine. I took the jets out of a flea bay mokini, its a $20.00 china bomb knockoff carb. The jets are slightly smaller than what is in a j10. I think the main is a 35 in the mokini and a 37.2 in the j10 Mikuni. Another member and I had a good back and forth on the jet sizes. I think the thread was called "g1 lean plug reading" or something along those lines you may want to try and search here. Hopefully he will chime in with the thread. Ive been running this setup all year and have had no issues at all from 2200 to 6200 feet elevation. Plenty of power and no fouled plugs. I also run a j10 exhaust and an ET 250 head with 80:1 yamalube premix.

Keep in mind that anything at all you run in your fuel does have an effect on air/fuel ratio, be it oil, addatives, everything. For sure not saying these guys are wrong at all. Just a thought to consider when mixing...
