Piston Firing
Hey folks, I would like to know on a 295 4 cycle robin engine (1993) does both pistons fire at the same time as they both come to the top together or does one fire and then the other on the next time up?

the exhaust stoke, that's why they are so smooth compared to the Kaw one cylinders. |

Re: Piston Firing
I thought in order for them to fire separately there would have to be a distributor to direct the fire.

Re: Piston Firing
Here's a 295 cam, if both cylinders fired at the same time the 2 lobes on the left operating the valves would be in the same direction as the 2 on the right... see how they are 180 opposite direction? The cam spins half the speed as the crank = 4 stokes.

If they're off, you may be able to loosen the tensioner and reset the belt. Otherwise to replace the timing belt, the motor has to come out as you're not going to get the drive clutch off without pulling the motor. |
