Marathon Leaf Spring Options
Rebuilding the front suspension on my Marathon. I'm seeing three different leaf spring options. Curious if either of the more expensive options offer any value.
1) Factory replacement 2) Modz replacement 3) HD front leaf springs Under what use case would HD front leaf springs be needed? Are the Modz leafs any better than OEM? |

Re: Marathon Leaf Spring Options
I replaced them on an 88 a few years ago, the owner bought them off ebay. I don't know the brand but think they were on the HD side compared to the old ones, as you can see in the pic they were mis-drilled. The seller was uncooperative so I had to re-drill the front holes, ever tried to drill hardened spring steel lol? It sucked, ruined a few drill bits but finally got it. Just make sure the ones you get are the right ones...........
I will say the ride seemed better than my 85, but it also had stock 8" rims with 18" tires. Mine has 12" rims with low profile tires, could have a lot to do with it too |
