96 EZGO TXT overheated my wiring, won't move
Hi everyone, i'm new to this site and it looks like i need help. BTW- I'm a carpenter not a electrician so bear with me. I overheated my cart pulling another persons cart that didn't put his in tow mode and has his chime disconnected, i now realize his cart was applying his motor in reverse and braking mine slower as we went. Mine slowed down until i over heated the main wire going to the forward/ reverse switch, top lug on switch overheated and melted the lug a small amount into its base. When i turn my key to on the solenoid clicks without me touching the gas pedal and does nothing more when i depress it. I have 36.8 volts on small lugs of solenoid when key is on and pedal not depressed.I have 37.4 on large bolt on battery side and 37.3 on other side. Pack voltage looks like 37.4 on batteries that have not been recharged since cart overheated and batteries are four weeks old. Not sure how to check the F/R switch and i am puzzled why the solenoid is clicking with the key turned on. This is a series cart from i am am learning on your site.

Re: 96 EZGO TXT overheated my wiring, won't move
I changed out the F/R switch to a old one that i had, since unhooking and hooking the main battery pack leads the solenoid does not click when i turn on the key ,not sure if this has any thing to do with F/R switch or just taking the power away from solenoid.Still cannot get the wheels to move with this F/R switch. My battery gauge is not moving when i turn the key switch on. Could i have overheated the key switch or peddle micoswitch?
