Battery Dilemma.
I just bought a 1995 Ezgo. 36 volt system.
I has two Trojan T-105 battery's (6volt) 225 AH@20 hrs./185AH@5 hrs. and four Rural King GC115G battery's 186AH@20hrs. I noticed this when I bought it and thought, I will just buy two more battery's. 1st question: Would you run it like this? 2nd question: Would you buy two new Rural Kings? Re: Battery Dilemma.
If your 4 rural kings are 2020 year, I'd probably get 2 more matching ones and just ride it out. As you can tell by tha AH ratings, they are low rate batteries. Dont get the idea in your head "if I put 2 larger capacity ones in there, itll make up for that", it's quite the opposite, adding mismatched capacity batteries will help kill them all, due to charging & discharging at different rates.

Re: Battery Dilemma.
Thank cgtechs
I can get two more battery's from the same store that the other four was purchased from. I learned something today. I looked up how to read that code. The code for the two Trojans is K2 (November 2012) right? Month Code Represents (Month) Year Code Represents (Year) A January 0 2010 or 2020 B February 1 2011 C March 2 2012 D April 3 2013 E May 4 2014 F June 5 2015 G July 6 2016 H August 7 2017 I September 8 2018 J October 9 2019 K November L December |

Re: Battery Dilemma.
Get rid of those Rural Kings ASAP!!! they kill controllers all the darned time. Low voltage = resistance = heat which kills anything solid-state. Rural Kings are not rated to work under the load a golf car needs. Reduced run times, and low voltages kill.
Gosh I hate Rural King so much and hope they join Ames, Kmart, and Sears soon. |
