I have a 6 year old Club car electric 48 volt. Just replaced all 6 Batteries and one cable that was getting hot. The car operates great for a short while then stops like the Batteries are dead. The Battery light come on whebn I disconnect the charger cable and comes and goes while in use, Any ideas. Thanks

Welcome to the forum

6 batteries in a 48 volt system? Shouldn't you have (4) 12 volt batteries?

How long are you leaving Batteries on the charger ?
What type and brand of Batteries did you buy ?
Do you have a Volt meter (digital prefered).

If yes then measure Pack Voltage 30 minutes after charge completes !

Also, make sure all connections are tight. Usually the first thing to check when you feel heat on the cables is to make sure all connections are tight.

Thanks for your response. $ batteries came from Sam's Club and were Energizer for Golf Carts The other 2 came from NAPA. I leave the charger on when not in use. All connections are Tight. I replaced the wire that was getting hot. I have a golf car mechanic from a nearby golf course coming Thursday to see what he can find since all my efforts are futile. I have checked all 6 batteries separately with a meter that also shows load reading. all check out at 8 volts and only drop slightly with the load button on. all in the safe zone. Any other Ideas appreciated Thanks. Jim

On sparky carts it is important to read 2 places past the decimal:

8.15
8.22
50.54

This gives a better indication of what is going on.
