Default Pressure-Activated Brake Light Switch

I am putting brake lights on my cart and am trying to get the best brake pedal switch. I don't like the idea about a 30 second timed switch and was looking at a product made by Redhawk.

They refer to it as a "universal pressure-activated brake light switch". It mounts directly to the brake pad and would be useful when I go hunting so that I can use my brakes without turning on my brake lights.

My question is does anyone have one of these switches? I like the idea of the switch, but I would like to know how durable and how well these work as a brake switch.

I am not sure if this is one of our sponsors, but this is a link to the brake pedal switch.

Thanks,
Thomas

I guess my big question now is how durable is the pedal mounted switch?

Thanks,
Thomas

I can't find the pictures but someone did a very neat and simple Idea here where a push button starter switch was mounted in the brake pedal and worked very well for under $8.00.
Only worked when you push the pedal but not on with parking brake.
Anyone remember or have the pictures? Should I keep looking?

Edit: here's one:

Would this switch work with a Club Car Precedent? Not sure if it is wide enough to mount through the pedal?

I guess if it wears out it will not be very expensive to replace it. The company that built my cart is putting in the turn signals and brake lights so I do not loose my mind trying to figure out their wiring schemes. If they do decide to just use two of the 8 volt batteries to run the lights would the switch be able to handle the 16 volts?

It looks big
Look at my link and the pictures, Your going to need two switches wired in series so when the parking break is set the lights go out.

Gaminde,

I am a little confused. I dont see a link and why would you need a second switch?

If you use the pressure switch on the pedal wouldn't that take care of the brake lights?

Thanks
Thomas

when you press the brake pedal, the brake lights come on, so as you know, when you use your parking brake, the pedal is pressed down and your lights are on, you need a second switch mounted under the parking brake lever of your brake pedal that shuts of the lifgts when your put it in park.

the parking brake switch is mounted behind the pedal, the brake light switch is mounted underneath the cart on the brake lever.

I used a two switch setup on my cart as well and it works great. I went to our local air conditioning supply store and bought $12 worth of switches, along with a few scrap pieces of aluminum angle and 1 1/2 hours of my time. I didn't like the timer idea because of the lights staying on for 30 seconds and I didn't like the price of the kits available.

You asked about a starter switch I replied about that switch, I thought you moved on.
Look up a few posts I posted a link before these last two posts
