What is the best guage cable for the wiring between batteries and controller?

Most will say 4 guage, I say if you are gonna do the cables, go with #2, that way no matter what upgrades you do in the future, you will be good, don't forget the cables going to the controller and motor.

If you plan on getting a 500amp or higher controller than go with 2ga. If you are running stock to 400amp then 4ga is good. It is better to go bigger than too small! As Scott said, replace them all. Remember to use 2 wrenches on the motor bolts so you don't spin the motor studs!

6ga will be fine. If you can put 4ga on, it will charge a bit faster due to more flow. That really sucks that somebody stole your batteries.

Believe it or not the guy I am fixing the cart for is a Sheriff. They stole them out of his yard. Lucky for them he was on duty, otherwise they would be dead....

6g is stock, 4g is an upgrade.

For the difference in cost, being you need new ones anyways, I would go with the 4g . . .
