Re: 98 DS motor- WHAT IS THIS THING???
ok, i received this bag of parts ( Am motor centering kit ). I was told not to use the rubber piece.
There are no pictures or instructions on how this kit goes together. I have no idea what order the parts assemble, and also there are 2 rubber pieces in the kit. Does anyone have a picture or diagram on how this stuff goes together? Help. |

Re: 98 DS motor- WHAT IS THIS THING???
Just put a kit in my 2000 DS, and solved the rattle/noise problem - I thought it was the rear end, couldn't imagine it was the motor... It is frustrating that there isn't even a simple diagram with the kit, but here is the order of assembly thanks to some other posts on the subject I have read:
The plain washer first Next the spring, Followed by the splined metal washer, Then the rubber splined washer, smaller tapered end toward the motor. Don't use the rubber bumper part that is included |

Re: 98 DS motor- WHAT IS THIS THING???
JD, thanks for the response and info. I will go out and see if it makes sense to me.
You said you gathered some info about the sequence, do you still have that info? If you do, I would like to get a copy for future, can you email or pm it to me? Meanwhile, I will go look at this again. Thanks so much brother! |

Re: 98 DS motor- WHAT IS THIS THING???
The bearing is probably the input shaft bearing. Mine came in a pack just like that but didn't have a bearing?

Re: 98 DS motor- WHAT IS THIS THING???
So i just stack these parts ( in order), on the short splined shaft that sticks out of the gear case? ( The shaft that the motor slides onto)?
