From 19.9mph to 12

Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me with something? My 2010 club car precedent has speed code 4 and used to go around 19.9 mph. Now the fastest I got it at was 11-15 uphill/flat and max 17 downhills he batteries I beleive are original but could that be the problem? Also when I back up I hear a little rubbing noise coming from the brakes, could they be rubbing? And how would I test to see if they were rubbing? Thanks guys, I don't really want to go out and spend a lot of money on batteries as that is not currently in the budget - Tom

With cart in tow and brake off you should be able to roll the cart on level ground. When you quit pushing it should roll a little on its own. It not the brakes ane dragging.

Time to check out your batteries! Get them load tested. Your problem sounds like tired batteries to me.

Ok should I post the battery voltages after a full charge?

Sure, AND after they have been sitting 12 hours. A load test is really what will tell though, to see if they are dropping too low under load. The easiest way to test this is find the steepest hill around, and with your DVW attached to the pack, see how low the voltage drops to with it floored...

You really want to test them under load. The voltage after charging will not always show a bad battery but a load test will.

I'm sure you know this, but check your tire pressure too. I bought a speed kit a few years ago and only gained about 2 mph. Someone suggested checking the tire pressure and although they didn't look low, they were way under pressure. After adding air to the tires, I went from around 15 mph to 19.

I forgot to mention that the batteries smelt like rotten eggs. Checked it and the water was low. Filled them up and the smell was gone. This was about on Monday and tonight the smell came back again... I'll check the water tonight. Also there was always a hot battery cable problem on two of the battery's and one of the batteries was coincidently the one that was out of water... Thanks man

The ends on the cables can look good, but have bad connections sometimes. That would cause a hot cable.
