Basically series carts make more torque and Sepex carts (PDS) make more speed.
(copy & pasted from an email this AM)
You can get a PDS into the upper 20s on the flats with 48v and pkg 909 (500 amp Alltrax controller kit from CU) with 23” tires.

All electric motors slow when placed under significant load...... Put a big spade or paddle bug in your electric drill and push it hard into a piece of wood & you will see what I mean.... There are 3 things you can do to combat this loss of speed
1. You can get a smaller drill bit, in your case a smaller tire would be easier to turn and torque loss would be less resulting in less loss of speed or perceived power.
2. You can increase available amperage. As the load on an electric motor is increased it draws more amperage to produce more torque. THe controller, solenoid, F&R, and Cables are the limiting factors in how much amperage your motor is able to draw.
3. You can increase the voltage your motor is run on. This will increase the torque and the speed. In the case of 36 to 48v that increase is 33% ... add to that an increase of available amperage from stock 275 amp control to 500 amps and you have a very significant performance improvement.
There are no chips in the Alltrax control, We simply program the output and the speed as desired.
I hope this helps.

Like was originally stated about 5mph difference. The series carts run about 14mph the PDS with a red freedom chip between 17-19 on stock tires.
