Thank you Furious. I'll look into POR. I really appreciate the advice.

Torn down to the frame and cleaned up! Next step is to take care of rust and repaint. Will post pics Monday.

Finished tear-down this weekend. Sanded, repainted, greased, etc. Working with ScottyB on electronics (not my strong suit). Tonight I will do differential fluid and brakes. Body parts are ready to taken to paint shop.

Why are my photos coming in sideways? They are not that way on my computer.

Still don't know how to rotate pics.

I have taken the cart down to the frame, cleaned, sanded, painted. The 2 body panels are ready to take to the painter. Today I serviced the differential. Had to pound out a few dings, one had rub marks from the gears, but the gears looked good. Fluid was black and stunk! Now, on to the brakes. Pulled off hubs; need shoes! Will have to order them tomorrow. Having an up issue with uneven cables. Hopefully someone can answer my post about that. More later...

A '96 TXT with bad rust on the battery rack will need new brake cable assemblies. You will thank me later when your brakes are totally adjustable and work perfectly.
