Default 1995 EZGO Medalist

Anyone ever made your own lift kit for the front end of a Medalist? I lifted the back this weekend by relocating the springs on top of the axle. Now I need to figure out how to fabricate something for the front. Also - i believe it has the original motor. I only get 11 mph on flat ground. Totally stock with new batteries. Will replacing the motor brushes make any difference.

Nope. That's all you're gonna get from it without spending some real cash.

I was thinking about cutting the axle and using some square tubing to drop the spindles down about 5 inches. Would kinda end up like a drop axle kit but instead of spending $250 it will only take you a little time and welding. Still working on mine. Maybe this weekend it will happen.

I am going to look at it again and see if I can fabricate something similiar to a drop axle kit for the front. I am still curious if replacing the brushes in the motor will make any difference.

Replacing the brushes and even turning the comm will go a long way towards cutting out resistance in the circuit. It will not make the motor spin any faster. You need more volts or less gear to go faster.
