Hello & Seeking Advice For First Time Cart Purchase (2008 EzGo RXV)
Hello all. I am looking for some advice on purchasing my first cart. Our market here in western ny is poor. A decent cart here seems to run between $2000 - $3000 with many over the $4000 mark and some of these are 10+ years old. I have located an ex-fleet 2008 RXV. It is clean, runs well and it's a pewter color. Original Trojans, 4x12v, no original solenoids. It has a windshield, sun top, Q charger and a small mounted cooler. It does not have lights. the guy selling gets various carts regularly and resells them. He is asking a firm $2300. Does this sound like a fair price for this cart?

Is the RXV the way to go? I am assuming it is since it has the AC motor & 48 volt system. Would this cart be a better choice than a TXT? I have looked at a couple of those also.

Thanks Rib. I was lurking here for a bit anticipating a purchase and recently registered. I have seen the thread you referred to. Other than the bad solenoids are there other things to watch out for? All carts have their issues, I just want to be aware of what I may be getting into.

Hi Luv
in Georgia here..I looked around a few months and finally went for a 2008 PDS EZGO. Green, 2011 Trojan batteries, rear seat..good tires....really brand new looking for $2800. This is my first cart and it was either a PDS or the RXV. I dont know the differences, but just looking at threads on this and other sites, it seemed the RXV had more problems....but this isnt from personal experience. So far, I have added a light kit and a mirror on mine and we are enjoying it. Good luck on your choice. |

And just an FYI for those of you that wonder, since I didn't know what to use as a name here I used my Jeep name which is LuvMyTJ. It stands for Luv My TJ. The TJ being my Jeep TJ Wrangler.

Re: Hello & Seeking Advice For First Time Cart Purchase (2008 EzGo RXV)
Just a little follow up. I ended up buying a 72 volt Gem Car. It popped up on Craigslist locally and I was the first caller. Since it was such a screaming deal I went right over and put down a deposit. It is very cool and it filled a requirement I had on the list, but figured I would not find... it is street legal. It even has the optional heater! A heater on an electric cart? Wonder how long the batteries last running that thing! LOL. While it's main use will be at camp, it will also see some local use for running errands and such. Unfortunately, this forum is not really geared towards NEV's, but I will still keep lurking since I like it here so much.
