As I am at the stage where I am starting to re-assemble the electrical on the 1996 TXT, where should I start? Motor, controller, or fnr switch? I am a newbie and would appreciate guidance. Just wondering if any sequence makes it easier? I do not have the batteries in yet; I thought I would do that last, so I would have plenty of room to do the other stuff.

I would start by running the long wires from FnR to motor to hel with confusion of all the controller/solenoid wires...and good idea with batteries last as you can see what your doing alot better with them out of the way...

It's pretty basic but always a good idea to take pics before you take apart. I used multi colored zip ties before and after to make it easier to know what wire your looking at.

Are you replacing parts or starting from scratch?

All new wiring and electronics. New battery tray as well.

If not already marked, mark both ends of the cables and wires.

Mark each cable end with the actual terminal it connects to.

Verify each connection with the schematic before connecting, then recheck it again after connecting and triple check it before lighting the fuse.

Here is where I am now. I deliberately left off the top and the front seat-back so I would have more room and light for the electrical install. Thank for everyone's help so far! Now to the hard part...
