2006 TXT Ez Go
I am really having trouble with my cart.
I bought a Speed Controller, Solenoid and key switch all new one at a time over the past month and each thinking the next will correct the issue. I have an ez go txt 2006. I can get it to run sometimes The batteries are charged I checked with a Hydrometer I did the test also by turning the key off and going from Neutral to reverse 5 times then it gives me 4 Beeps straight not 3 then one. On the tow/run box there are many numbers but none with 4 beeps. Help |

Did you drive the cart while in diagnostic mode to see if it would give you an error that way?

Re: 2006 TXT Ez Go
If you haven't already, download the three .pdf files in this post from the stickies at the top of the Electric EZGO forum.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html They are the Owner, Service and Parts manual for your cart. The 4 beeps just means you have a Freedom Chip installed. (Molex plug with two jumpers wires plugged into J2 on controller) Listen for the any beep codes that occur after the 4 beeps, or while driving in diagnostic mode. You state the batteries are fully charged, so the first question is: Does the solenoid click? If so, the problem is in the high current circuit. If not, the problem is in the solenoid activation circuit. Let us know whether the solenoid clicks when the cart is misbehaving and we'll go from there. |

Re: 2006 TXT Ez Go
The controller supplies both B+ (Battery voltage source) and B- (Battery voltage return) to the solenoid.
The first thing I would check for is B+ on the smaller of the three wires coming out of the Charger receptacle. If it isn't there the Reed switch is bad. Just attached the Red wire it plugs into, to B+. Here is a picture of the receptacle with the cover off. The Reed switch disables the cart when the charger's plug is inserted into the receptacle. Due to high failure rate, it was bypassed in later years. If you do have the voltage there, measure the voltage on the backside of the following pins with plugs attached to the jacks on the controller. DVM negative test lead is attached to negative post on Right Rear battery, as shown in second drawing. Jack locations are shown in the third drawing, which is the schematic for a PDS cart. In order for controller to activate solenoid, B+ must be present at the following pins: J1 Pin1 J1 Pin2 or Pin3 (Pin2 if direction selector is in R or Pin3 if in F) J1 Pin4 J1 Pin5 J1 Pin8 J1 Pin9 J3 Pin1 J3 Pin2 J3 Pin3 J3 Pin4 When accelerator pedal is pushed J4 Pin1 J4 Pin2 If you are missing any of those voltages, the controller will not activate the solenoid. The various plugs can be removed from the controller and the switches and the wires to/from them can be checked with an Ohmmeter. Actually, you can just check all the switches with an ohmmeter before looking for the voltages. Unfortunately, it sounds like you've got a spare, controller, solenoid and keyswitch. |

Re: 2006 TXT Ez Go
Checked everything and everything checks out fine
I can not get the solenoid to Click ( pull down ) when I press the pedal. Any other possibilities? Tim |

Re: 2006 TXT Ez Go
If all the voltages are there, the controller is being told to close the solenoid.
If it isn't closing the solenoid, or at least applying B+ and B- to the solenoid coil terminals, the controller is bad. |
