Wild! 120ah new lith cells for $50??? These look like they'd need to be compressed into some kind of housing, so the build will be a bit more interesting, but that really is a great price.

It doesn't say what the original use was or the chemistry, but even so...

from the product details, they only listed this:

These batteries came out of larger modules where the mounts that connect the battery to the vehicle frame didn't line up properly or the main busbar was bent. So the cells have never been used and are still sitting at nominal voltage. We did have to cut off some of the tabs to remove the old busbar connector but there is plenty of tab space left to make your connections.

I just found some leaf cells on there as well, gen1 but still a great price. You could get 14 for $700! They even bottom balance before shipping and guarantee all cells good.

I've not done a diy build yet but dang, this is tempting. I need to get a junk cart to play with for myself instead of the main that the wife and family drive around!

Those G1 look like great fodder for another power wheels lithium conversion... I did a 5S conversion on my boy's power wheels, really made a difference.

What I would love to do is get my hands on a busted 4 wheel mobility scooter and either lithium 57 volt it or put a 250cc motorcycle engine in it... The British guy on youtube has forced me to put this on my bucket list after seeing his conversion...

Too funny - share the link! I'd love to see his youtube feed.

I took our kids power wheels and doubled the voltage, which within a day or so broke the "transmission" if you can call it that. So I ordered an upgraded replacement, then it ran good for a bit, until the motor got so hot it melted through the plastic housing.

Lol, same here. Broke drive gears at wheels within a day.

These lithium cells are a steal tho. If I were in the market, I'd grab some up quick.

I put motor cooling fins on the powerwheels motors and upped the voltage to 18v nominal, 20v max on the 5s. I left the back wheels as plastic on purpose so they'd slip. So far the plastic gears are holding up. I did add a fat resistor in line with the "brake" switch, since the brakes are just shorting the motor leads to create a regen braking event. The big fat resistor absolutely lessened the load on the plastic gears.

I was about 30 seconds from pulling the trigger on these and then I noticed they are the foil tab Style. Is there any concern trying to run up to 400A through foil tabs?
