Bad voltage regulator
Hey guys. My start/gen grenaded itself so I replaced it. Now it seems my voltage reg took a crap. Could this be caused by the start/gen taking a crap?

Re: Bad voltage regulator
More likely the other way around. Voltage regulator goes out making the SG run at full output... magic smoke in no time.
Is it charging too high, or not charging at all? Which brand S/G did you get? Most of the cheapos are just that... You might get a few months out of them and they they kick the bucket. |

Re: Bad voltage regulator
I went with a ebay one. But it is still going fine. My problem is it's over charging. But when I disconnect thr red wire from the vg to the solenoid it still charging the system. And I'm assuming it shouldn't?
Also i noticed the white wire coming from the solenoid to the starter was touching the housing of the s/g. Perhaps that could of been the Issue. |
