97 club car spark problem
Have an intermittent spark issue with my 97 club car. Occasionally engine will not start(no spark) I disconnect the plug wire from the plug and put screwdriver into plug wire and check for spark to ground. Get good spark to ground, reconnect and starts and runs fine.

Re: 97 club car spark problem
Try removing the ground from your rev limiter and see if that helps. I was having some issues with intermittent ignition cutting out and that was the problem.

Re: 97 club car spark problem
Thanks, I'll try that. I can go days with it working fine and then days where it won't start. To get it to start I just unhook the plug wire, insert screwdriver, press pedal and put screwdriver near ground. Get good spark, reconnect and is fine. Once it starts it runs with no problems

Re: 97 club car spark problem
Disconnected the black wire (just unplugged at connection)from the rev limiter and starts fine now. Runs the same as before. What's the difference between disvonnecting the ground vs the black wire?

Re: 97 club car spark problem
Probably because it easier to find the ground wire!
