I did 72v
I did the 72v lithium. will this hurt the mocr? I'm getting little cutting in and out (contactor) at full charge (84.4) then goes away after the voltage drops just a little. the neg is not running through the obc. but its still hooked up. yes the controller is a 72v controller brand new. reverse contactor and contactor are brand new 72v sw202's
and yes wheelies for days and 43mph top speed. tire smoking over-volting a 48 d&D MOTOR. A tractor weight in the front helps. I will try putting water in front tires. but I need to figure out why main contactor cuts on/off Last edited by russb442; 06-01-2020 at 03:00 AM.. Reason: add |

Re: I did 72v
What brand Controller do you have? An Alltrax has a overvoltage cutoff which is adjustable I suppose other controllers do as well. Perhaps your regen voltage is driving it over the limit.

Re: I did 72v
Maybe you can charge it to a slightly lower voltage?
Are you running a 20S pack? If it's leaf cells or Chevy Volt cells most people stop charging at 4.1 to 4.12vpc. That would put the max charge at 82V to 82.4v. If you're running a 20S and charging to 84.4v and every cell is perfectly balanced that's 4.22vpc, which is rather high IMO. I normally charge my pack to 4.06vpc unless I need the extra range for something. I bet it's a run ride though! 43mph! Is the D&D banded for high speed operation? If you have 23" tires and a stock rear diff you're spinning that motor about 7,500 rpm. If you have smaller tires then you're spinning the motor faster. Unless the D&D is banded for higher rpms then it may not handle that kind of force for long. Most try to keep the rpms down to 6000 or less. |

Re: I did 72v
if your going to go to those rpms you should
consider an AC setup once the d&d comes apart which it will. |
