G2 stuck in low after torque spring install
Hi, I use my golf cart to push my race car and my stock clutch spring just wasn't cutting it. So I installed the Plowman torque spring according to the instructions and off I went. Tons more torque with minimal loss of high end.
First few minutes of driving, the cart was a dream, lots more torque, the install worked great. After about 3-4 minutes, the cart refused to climb RPM and the motor would be pulled down really fast like the cart is stuck in first gear. I took everything apart, put it back together, problem solved, drove around no issues. I get to the track the next week, push the car about 60 yards and then run into the problem again. We took it apart, put it back together but it didn't fix it. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? |

Well this may be a dumb question but did you grease it? Because I notice the Zirt looks pretty **** clean to have had anything put in it... 3 pumps should be a good starting point.

I put grease on the shaft... nothing else. I must have missed a step in the instructions?

In your pic you can see a grease cert. You need to fill that with grease (about 3 pumps ) will do. Then all will be good...

The shaft would be fine the bushing might need replaced on the clutch.

Re: G2 stuck in low after torque spring install
Greased her up... no go but then I heard a knocking noise... Looks like an arm in the "front clutch" gave way... could this be causing the trouble? What is the proper name for this assembly and is it hard to fix? It also looked like there was a grease zerk for the front that was dry as a bone :(
And yes, I know this cart is beat but it's been a mule for a while now. |
