How much speed will I gain with a 62" tire over a 57" tires circumference?

This is a much discussed topic here. It sems you want to go from 18" tires to 20" tires. The increas in circumference shoudl give you more speed if everything else is equal, but it won't be. The greatest issue is that by increasing the radius of the tire you also increase the force neede to turn it (and worse yet, this is nonlinear). The most practical way to understand this is by imagining a crowbar, the longet the bar, the more less force needed to perform the prying task. This is the same concept from the opposite side so the longer the distance from the center of the wheel the more force needed to turn it (torgue). Lets say we have a motor, wires and cable stron enough to compensate. The we have the coeeficient of friction of the tire, or how much of the rubber is meeting the road. This is affected by width, tread pattern and air pressure. Higher pressure, narrow tires will have less rolling resistance hence a better chance at speed. The best answer to your question is t post what size you are going from and to (diameter and width) as well as the specs of your cart (voltage, motor,controller etc) and ask if anyone else has done the same thing.

I doubt your cart can turn over the 57" tires, much less the 62's

Don't have any problems spinning either one of them. The 57" is the stock tire stretched a little. This is the circumferance not the height.

Theoretically just do the math... the difference is a bout what 10%, that's how much faster you should roll at top speed on the flats. (1mph per 10mph)I think what OP is referring to is the loss of torque?

That is pretty close Scotty. It goes 2 mph faster with GPS. Thanks
