Replacing stolen charger
I left my cart plugged in for the winter.
I was worried the whole cart would dissappear. Someone decided I wouldnt need a charger anymore and stole it. I was lucky it was only the charger. My question: Is now a good time to look at on-board chargers? The fact that they dont have a giant transformer, does that make them more efficient? The cart is used everyday during the summer, but rarely needs any heavy charging, just a nightly top-up. Price is a factor for me, the cheaper (yet most efficient) solution would be great. I have seen them from 200 to 500$ Any feedback for me? Thanks! |

Re: Replacing stolen charger
i take it there are 8 volt batteries?....................and yes you can go with a on-board charger i beleive you,ll have to bypass the OBC which shouldn,t be a problem lots of guys do it but as for what charger to buy ?? can,t answer that but maybe those here who have done this will jump in and add to it..............................

Re: Replacing stolen charger
seems too cheap at $100
rated at UP TO 20 amps..but that's most likely for a 6 volt charge....at 48 volt might be considerable lower....sometimes the cheapest is not the best... BTW..i saw a few chargers for sale in the used parts dept of this site.... |

Re: Replacing stolen charger
It comes with a year warranty. If it's not good, take it back for a refund. If I needed a charger it would be worth a try to me.

Re: Replacing stolen charger
I don't know, I bought new Thunderbull's from local repair center (new) for $200 each... These "shortcut" chargers would worry me.... just my five cents...
