Default anyone tell me why i should buy batteries at sams club

I have been reading up on all the sams club battery discussions and it looks like the only difference in sams batteries and all other comparable batteries are luck of the draw and maintenance. my local club car guy uses US batteries and they offer a 2 year waranty for 120 per battery, sams club offers a one year waranty for 88 per battery. is it worth it for the 200 dollars extra for the US or is that money better spent towards a bigger controller to go along with my new plum quick motor?

Smile Re: anyone tell me why i should buy batteries at sams club

I bought Sam's batteries. 6 - 8 volts. I took a bathroom scale to Sam's and weighed the batteries. They were within 2 lb (+ -) of the other "major" brands. I took my digital volt meter with me and picked out the ones with the highest voltage and the newest date.

We leave our golf car in Phoenix over the summer, and a neighbor comes in and runs the charger every 2-3 weeks.

It was only 6 months ago that I bought them, so I can't speak about how long they will last compared to other brands.

I felt that since they were very close to the weight of the other brands (same amount of lead) they would work for me.

My .02 cents.

Have fun, Dave

Neither one of those 8v batteries would be on my wish list.

Sam's batteries are cheap and you get what you pay for. They do not last as long as the higher priced batteries. You never hear that because most people buying cheap batteries are trying to sell or they just don't come back and repost 2 years later. But we see it. Good luck.

Look at the CR 190 from Crown battery.
