Default Bought 01 Club Car DS - Have few questions

Hello All,

I purchased a 2001 Club Car DS yesterday. I have a few questions.

1) How do I determine if it is the DS Power Drive System 48 or the Power Drive Plus 48 volt system (Serial #AA01?

2) I want to add a 12 volt battery for a stereo system. When you guys add these how do you keep the charge up in the 12 volt system? Do you have a seperate 12 volt charger or is there a way to charge a 12 volt battery using the carts external charger?

3) The cart is equipped with factory head/tail lights. Is there a 12 reducer already installed?

Thanks in advance!

Don't waste your money and make your life complicated by adding another battery, just get a good 48V battery reducer, which will run your lights, horn, and stereo all day long, you really will not notice much drain if any on the battery pack. I really like these, I have two of these and they are fantastic and the price is right. Reducer

To verify if you have the PD PLUS, which is regen II, remove the motor controller. If you have the big black connector and your controller looks like this then it's PD Plus.

As far a factory reducer or if your current cart as one, you'll have to look at how the lights are wired, if the positive and negative are directly two the batteries then you have no reducer.
