Post Rear view of difference in tires

The wife says I am now certifiable… this is the look showing the difference in tire footprint on the rear (255/50R-10 on the left - 205/50R-10 on the right), the front will have 225-45-10’s due to I don’t want to lift the front end, this size will still clear on sharp turns since I installed the 2” front extension plate (Jakes P/N: 7260).

I have “heavy” duty rear springs to keep cart from “swaying” on turns, there is ¾ inch clearance between body and tire… took for test run, tight turns and cross incline run, no flex so no rubbing… Will take final pics once I get the last of the “toys” installed. It needs a bath, just got home from work, have to love the fun drive...

Firestone cracked one of the rims when taking the tire off, so here I sit with three tires… at least they are buying a replacement rim, should have it next week, also no cost to mount new tire.

Wow, that looks great with the wider stance and all...

Do you have a pic of the Jakes 2" front extension plate? I'd like to see that.

Post Rear view of difference in tires

I feel like a “doof”, I was thinking about installing the “bush whacker” fender extenders for I didn’t like the way the rear tires were sticking out so much. Removed the tires and was about to start punching holes in the body, which I really didn’t want to do because the paint job… Looked at the rear axle and realized I forgot to remove the adaptor/space from spindle. Removed adaptor/spacer and the rear wheels now sit very nicely inside the fender wells, sort of that “tub’ed” look. This will make the local policeman happy as now the rear tires are not over the “legal” limit outside the fender well. Note 255-50R/10’s fit very nicely on the rear of a non-lifted DS with heavy duty springs.

After another couple of adjustments, I will list the fender extensions (NIB) and wheel adaptors in the for sale area. My camera battery needs to be charged, the 2" extension worked well for I didn’t have to lift front to run larger tires. The extension requires flipping the upper arms over and bolting on new lower front shock mounts.
