Default need help again with controller

OK..I've looked thru more schematics than i can count, read stuff till my eyes crossed..then as a last resort said ok...page one...get fire directly to run switch
ran wire from positive terminal of battery to red/white/ wire. switched to run,turned on key switch, depressed pedal and something smelling similar to burnt wire or bakelight rose from area of controller...does not appear to be run switch or diode area on solonoid...so ok what do you think i may have cooked here besides my goose?...Controller???? was pushin 36 volts through that positive connection into run switch...page 2... can I save myself a lotta trouble screwin with this and hook up a universal curtis PB6 and bypass controller so i can get on the beach...summers flyin by.....any help appreciated...

you do realize how small that space is, and the volume of wires????who'd a thunk i'd have to become an electrical engineer just to give my a-- a drive...raining cats and dogs here tonite, will wait till tomorrow...wouldnt wanna step in a poodle..thanx shadowman for advice

yeah i know its tight but get close enough and you,ll smell it....................
