I don't understand what kgsc means by the cable needs tweaks to get past OEM level. The "tweaking" is on the computer, not the cable.
I was working with another member here and had gotten to OEM but no farther. I mailed the cable to him and he implied it needed some changes made to it before the software would read it correctly as a true cable and allow the bells and whistles to be accessed. It will now and I can get to developer mode but I am still learning just what to change. If yours works as is I stand corrected.

Cool. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving out false information. I think there are a couple of registry entries to make it go into OEM mode. Unfortunately, my memory is unreliable - stupid brain tumor. I will try to dig up that info.

Not quite. IAL and SAL v1ìD and that may have to be entered in binary mode. And these are set after you have connected to a controller.

My cart is on vacation location (so I can't just look at controller)...... is the plug on the end of this cable female pin? And what size is the pin? I see 2 sizes available.

Well I'm actually kinda shocked but I did it all right and successfully change my parameters. Got 5mph more.

Thanks ishootstuff.

KGSC what do you mean when you say 'IAL and SAL v1ìD and that may have to be entered in binary mode'? Can you please explain exactly what additional steps need to be taken for OEM mode. Or anyone else care to elaborate please?

Also, can the cable and software be plugged in and run all while the controller is still connected to the cart?

Bring up Regedit. Go into HKEY CURRENT USER/Software/Curtis Instruments/1314 CV4/Settings

Under Name, look for the entry IAL and rightclick on the name IAL, select Modify Binary Data

For the line 0000, you want to input the values 76 00 31 00 EC 00 44 00
For the line 0008, it remains 00 00 00

Do the same for SAL.

And yes it can be changed while in the cart. If your cart had freedom mode enabled with a dongle be careful what you change.

Will I still need to do any of this if I downloaded the OEM version of the software?
