Full trottle Start
When I start it runs at full speed. How do I adjust or fix? 89 EZGO Textron 2 cycle gas.

Is the pedal all the way down? Did you check the linkage under the seat to see if anything is off?

Cleaned carburator but never touched gas pedal linkage. Only removed choke linkage but replaced in same spot.

Is the spring that's wrapped around the throttle shaft doing its thing?

The spring on the throttle shaft with out a cable to return it to idle is made to go to wide open throttle. Is your throttle cable installed ? To close the throttle ? I don't have a diagram but i'm sure someone will chime in with a pic.
